Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar entrenched in traditions and bifurcated out in modernity began the auspicious 134th academic session 2018-19 with Hawan. Graced by the presence of Head of Institution, Principal Prof. Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi and pious attendance by the faculty and students, the annual feature took a new look. All invocations sought the benedictions of the almighty, omnipotent and omnipresent. Together all prayed not only for a fruitful prosperous academic session ahead but also for world prosperity & peace through the spread of the light of knowledge. At the culmination of the Hawan, addressing the gathering Principal Prof. Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi informed that K.M.V. was once again creating history by becoming the first college in the region to be doubly blessed with both autonomous and star college status. She also said that K.M.V. was the only college to have received the fist grant of 1.5 crore rupees recently which would be put to optimum use for the benefit of the students. She also mentioned the K.M.V. memorial in form of Goddess Saraswati which was a humble remembrance of all who had worked for 134 years towards the well-being of society at large and women in particular. She stressed upon the young audience to be disciplined and dutiful to achieve success. Also mentioned by her were the new U.G. & P.G. courses started by the college and also the value-added programmes intended to groom youth into well rounded personalities. The celebrations left good cheer all around.
