KMV Physics Teacher Selects for National Award

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous institution, Jalandhar’s Dr Neetu Chopra of Department of Physics, has been selected for IAPT Dinabandu Sahu Memorial Award by Indian Association of Physics Teachers, for her significant contribution to the Undergraduate Physics Teaching. This award recognises the remarkable contribution of Dr. Neetu Chopra in conducting many experimental workshops, General Quiz shows and the very popular Quiz show 'Kaun Banega Einstein' to make her subject interesting and popular. She is coordinator to prepare students and to conduct National Graduate Physics Examination for last many years. She has developed e content in Physics to have audio visual teaching . She has inspired her students to enroll for online courses. She has displayed excellence in the capacity of co-coordinator of DBT Star College scheme by preparing students in innovative experiments and Projects. She has been instrumental in getting college VIPNET science club selected under Bronze Category by Vigyan Parsar Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India. The award has been conferred to her not only for her excellence in teaching but also her contribution to research. She completed one minor research project sanctioned by UGC and currently working on major research project worth Rs. 32.5 laks sanctioned by DST-SERB and guiding student for Ph.D. IAPT DSM award will be conferred during the 33rd IAPT National Convention to be held in Indian Institute of Technology, Ranchi during end October 2018. The award will consist of a citation and a cash Prize. Dr. Neetu Chopra gives credit of this award to institution and Principal, Prof (Dr) Atima Sharma who has always given her number of opportunities to learn and explore new ideas. Principal, Prof (Dr) Atima Sharma congratulated Dr. Neetu Chopra and Department of Physics for this glory to the Autonomous and Heritage Institution.
